Dr Richard Curry
Richard is the SUSTAIN Research Programme Manager, based at Swansea University. Richard has a background in Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Sensors and Holographic Lithography. Richard has worked in both academic and industrial research and managed several research groups within Tata Steel R&D. In 2013/14, Richard reshaped Tata Steel’s Teesside Laboratories ready for spin-out as an independent industrial R&D facility. The spin-out was successfully launched as the Materials Processing Institute (MPI) in December 2014. Richard left his role as Director of Operations of MPI in 2018 to join the SUSTAIN team. Richard’s interests lie in circular economy, decarbonisation and Industry 4.0.
