Dr Michael Auinger
Michael is an Associate Professor at Warwick. His research interests are in the area of thermodynamic modelling at interfaces of metals and oxide systems. With a focus on material corrosion, current research mainly targets stability and diffusion properties of metal-gas reactions at elevated temperatures as well as modelling (local) electrochemical reactions. Due to the fundamental nature of this approach, the proposed methods can also be applied to other inorganic systems at various length scales between the micrometre and atomistic scale.
Michaels work has been recognised by the British Institute of Corrosion with the TP Hoar Award as well as the EOS Prize of the European Optical Society.
